Full Circle
Well, that’s it, then.
Of all three missions I set upon myself to accomplish (missions of attempting to track down and retrieve lost family possessions), the final attempt was made with no success.
In a spur of great enthusiasm and positivity (I just finished off the documents for a new vehicle and the clients were incredibly happy and thankful!), I dialed a telephone number that I came upon yesterday: The telephone number of the unsavoury person who might be in possession of my family’s long lost hand-carved Humpback Whale.
He said he did not have it. He said he last saw it in my house. I said I last say it in HIS house.
“No. Sorry.”
So that’s it, then.
I have received no response from the couple who helped us pack up our house.
The whale cannot be found.
My ring is the only successful (well, almost successful, but I’m happy with the result nonetheless) outcome in this trilogy.
So that closes the door.
I have tried.
I have tried to find my family’s long lost possessions.
I have tried.
That was the final act relating to the wrapping up of my marriage, short of signing divorce papers which I cannot get myself to think about yet.
It is highly appropriate that in 40 minutes I will walk into the counsellor’s office and begin to unwind all that needs unwinding. Incredibly appropriate and timely.
I feel totally wiped out but ready for this next step.
“bring it on” in small letters rather than bold capitals today!
I’m sure you understand.
