Lost And Found
I found it. My wedding ring!
I FOUND IT!
Oh my gosh, at least I am pretty sure it is my ring.
This is such an incredible chain of events; events that have been completely separate and unrelated to each other.
Okay, I made the decision to try to locate my ring here in Squamish. Tonight, after completing my soccer shuttle I went and knocked on the door of the couple who might remotely have found it years ago. No luck there, but had a lovely chat with a previous neighbour.
When I came home (after dropping by to tell a friend of my predicted lack of success), I continued to Google ring designs and jewellery design websites.
And while scanning through the Image category of Google under the search label of “flat top diamond ring”, I see it. Right there in front of me. And get this, guess where it can be found? In a jewellery store three blocks from where my parents live!
I instantly e-mailed the shop requesting photographs of this particular ring, mentioning it looks incredibly similar to my long-lost wedding ring. I then checked the picture more carefully, found the inventory number and sent yet another e-mail offering all three of my contact numbers (gosh, I have THREE contact number?!).
I WANT THAT RING.
It has a cost of $750, $350 more than what was paid to create it.
I can get a piece of my heritage back.
I am not 100% certain it is my ring. It has been almost eight years since I last saw it. But, I know that I would recognize it if I held it in my hands and placed it on my finger, although it would be my right-hand ring finger this time.
I know that if I were to look underneath the diamond settings I would know for certain.
And what are the chances of TWO rings being designed like this? So similarly?
I will ask the store staff how the ring came to be there. What do they know of its history? Man, I just want to fly there (it is another city in BC), and buy it tomorrow! I wonder if it could be sent to the jewellery store here in town for me to check it out and decide?
I think that is what I will ask. I cannot get to the ring, so maybe the ring can come to me.
Fingers crossed for me, please.
It is amazing how pieces can fall into place so very quickly when the moment is just right.
I go to sleep with a smile on my fact tonight.
